hands; or because, when there’s a flag with the horizon behind it, he sets the focus incorrectly.

I bought the Golflaser Solar because it works without batteries, which is indeed the case—during the round, it hangs on my bag, and the rest of the time it’s stowed away, yet it always has plenty of power.

I was initially skeptical about the solar module, but it worked right out of the box. In my opinion, it measures very accurately. Unfortunately, I’m having trouble taking measurements because I can’t really keep the laser steady. A stabilizer—like the one on my camera—would definitely be helpful here. Especially when triggering the measurement, the raised button isn’t very helpful; a touch-sensitive button would certainly allow for faster measurements, since pressing the button causes the laser to wobble again. I definitely need to practice more here. I like that I can now see far enough to determine the flag’s position—for example, in front of or behind a wave—without having to take a measurement!

After some initial trouble aiming (it’s my first laser), it’s working perfectly now. I was surprised by how different it is from my X40.
The battery works and charging is fine. The housing fits even my large hands. Only the eyepiece feels too small. By that I mean the rubber part for the eye. The price is fine with me. I can’t compare it to other manufacturers.
It’s great that a lens cleaning cloth is included right away.

I spent a long time looking for a laser rangefinder that I could use for both golf and hunting. It was important to me that it wouldn’t stand out because of its color or a reflective lens. I also wanted it to work in a dimly lit forest as well as on a sunny golf course.
The display is very accurate, and up to 150 meters, hand shake isn’t really an issue yet; beyond that, you should be able to rest the device on something to aim at the flag.
When hunting, this isn’t really a problem since you can always rest the device on something while in a tree stand or at a hunting blind.
I don’t know if there’s any way to make the display on the device brighter—but it would be very helpful!
When setting up the device, you should leave it in the sun for a day to charge the internal battery; after that, ambient light is sufficient for trickle charging.
The included pouch could perhaps be a bit larger so you can stow the device away with one hand. (That would make sense for my use!), I attached the pouch to my backpack with a carabiner while hunting—unfortunately, my carabiner squeaks when the pouch swings back and forth as I walk.
Overall, I highly recommend this device at this unbeatable price! I would buy it again!
