Solar Mode

Solar-powered rangefinder: The Golflaser Eagle 600 Solar is environmentally friendly thanks to its solar technology. A built-in rechargeable battery is charged by the solar cell, so no batteries are required. It can measure distances of up to 600 meters.

FlagFinder

TheFlagFinder makes itmucheasierto locate the flag, as it identifies the flag against the background. This technology helps you hit the flag with ease, even if there are trees or bushes behind the green. You can choose from three different targeting options.

Vibration

Thevibration provideshaptic feedback and helps you lock onto the target. Once the Birdie has locked onto the target, it vibrates briefly and indicates the distance to the flag. This gives the player immediate feedback and allows them to feel confident as they prepare for their shot.

Scan Mode

With thescan mode, you can quickly and easily measure distances to various objects. By holding down the button, you can determine the distance to the flag, the front of the green, a bunker, or a tree in a matter of seconds.

Hunting Mode

Hunting mode is particularly useful when there is an obstacle, such as a tree, between your location and the target. Branches and leaves are filtered out during the measurement, allowing you to determine the distance to the target. This is useful for hunters, for example.

During a group round, my caddie had the GolfLazer 500 with him. Since I’d been thinking about buying a rangefinder for a while, we chatted between shots. He was very impressed with the value for money and said, “This thing does exactly what it’s supposed to.”

The device arrived quickly after I placed the order; it was well-packaged and came with a comprehensive user manual. I was initially skeptical about the solar module, but it worked right out of the box. In my opinion, it measures very accurately. Any discrepancies with other devices are within 1–2 meters, regardless of where those measurements come from. I can also highly recommend it based on its value for money.

Unfortunately, I’m having trouble taking measurements because I can’t really keep the laser steady. A stabilizer—like the one on my camera—would definitely be helpful here. Especially when triggering the measurement, the raised button isn’t very helpful; a touch-sensitive button would certainly allow for faster measurements, since pressing the button causes the laser to wobble again. I definitely need to practice more here. I like that I can now see far enough to determine the flag’s position—for example, in front of or behind a wave—without having to take a measurement!

I use it as a supplement to my GPS watch. The watch is fine for a quick glance, but when it comes to deciding whether to play over a bunker or lay up, for example, this device is really great.

The price is unbeatable, and even though I didn't charge the laser for a while beforehand, it works perfectly. I'm still having a little trouble keeping my hand steady, but overall, it offers unbeatable value for the price.
